When I try to open my database by double-clicking on it, Reference Manager 11 comes up and gives the error "Reference Manager Version 11.0.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close." How can I avoid this? |

Answer:
This will happen if you closed the Reference Manager 11 program with that database still open the last time the program was closed. Since Reference Manager remembers that this database was open the last time it was closed, it will automatically open that database when the program is next opened.
Instead of opening the program by double-clicking on the database, which in essence will try and fail to open the database twice, try just opening the Reference Manager program itself by going to "Start > Programs > Reference Manager". That way, you won't get an error message as the database will open just once, when the program itself opens.
